City Guide Magazine has created a list of New York City's best science museums. Brooklyn's Children's Museum is the oldest children's museum in the world. This science museum involves children from pre-school to high school in various learning adventures. The science museum houses a computer-equipped library, three theaters, weekend workshops, and offers internship programs, mentoring and scientists/artist-in-residence programs. The science museum is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. The New York Hall of Science is the city's only hands-on science and technology centre. This science museum features more than 225 exhibits. The Staten Island Institute of Arts and Sciences is New York's only general interest museum. The museum features a huge selection of geological and archeological specimens; as well as a vast collection of insect specimens.

Google is writing a $1 million check to the science museum in Boston. This is just one of a series of grants totaling $12 million that the company is giving to seven US and British science museums. A spokesman for the company said that the grants are part of Google's effort to encourage science education.

The company has given away $150 million to nonprofit and educational institutions last year alone. Some Google employees at the Cambridge research center also donate their personal time to the Museum of Science. Google has placed no special conditions on the grant, saying that it's up to the Museum of Science to decide how they can best use the funds. A spokesman for the museum said they have not decided how to spend the money yet, but one idea under consideration is to use it on an exhibit related to technology and engineering education, possibly computer science.

Cheap Flights to Florida Emerald Coast

Cheap flights to Florida have just gotten cheaper with the announcement that a new airline will be offering service out of the Destin/Ft. Walton Beach on the Emerald Coast of Western Florida. The new schedule will take effect on June 1, and some of these flights can be booked for limited-time fares of $39 each way through the airline website. The airline will offer service to destinations including Las Vegas, Memphis Tennessee, St. Louis, Missouri, Lafayette, Louisiana and Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

The airline has a business plan of making complete vacation packages that are affordable for everyone. They focus on cities and routes that are undeserved and where there are very high prices at competing airlines. This is very useful for frequent fliers who travel to these areas for business or industrial purposes. It's also beneficial for tourists who want to enjoy the coast, but it's also beneficial for conservationists and scientists who want to study the effects of oil spills on marine ecosystems. The Emerald Coast area was impacted by the Deep Water Horizon oil spill, but the beaches are now clean and ready for visitors to enjoy.
